Dennis Michael Omanoff: A Quick Career Overview From 2011-2014
On November 11, 2011, Dennis Michael Omanoff became the Senior Vice President of the World Wide Supply Chain and Procurement for Seagate. He launched systems for customer co-planning and fast execution for the largest OEMs, receiving commitments from the key customer base. The company was grateful for his role in creating a customer value network strategy, which was used to increase profitability, the quality of products, and response to customers. After the Thailand flood, he invested $250 million to restore the supply chain for the HDD industry. He was successful at reviving the industry in only two quarters and implementing a strategy for fulfillment based upon mathematical models employing nonlinear programming and simulations that significantly reduced operating expense by over $400 M as well as lead times.
In April of 2013, he started as the chief operating officer (COO) of Net Optics, Inc. His responsibilities for the company included global engineering, supply chain, managing alliances and business development through his global network, and product management. He was able to improve the company’s Bypass portfolio GM from 45% to 65% and leverage relationships, achieving strategic wins. He accomplished this through strategic platform wins through his global network, modifying the supply chain, cost reductions, and taking portfolio actions.
One of his most significant accomplishments was re-designing and re-launching the 10G optical tap product from NetOptics. He was integral in launching what is now the industry standard 10G tap used in Verizon and ATT central offices everywhere. This successful redesign and strategic win increased the company's run rate from $6 million to $15 million, taking them back to a leadership position in the market. Dennis Omanoff was integral to the successful sale of the company to Ixia, driving strategy, team preparation, presentations and meetings.
