The Educational and Professional Journey of Dennis Omanoff

Dennis Omanoff began his business career while growing up in Harlem and the Projects of South Bronx in New York City. As a young person, he developed an interest in business and wanted to see where he could go with education and training. Omanoff received two scholarships to help him pursue his studies: the New York Times Guild Scholarship and the New York State Regents Scholarship.


Omanoff began his studies at Fordham University in New York City, where he majored in philosophy and economics. He received his degree after three and a half years at the school, although he was also working full time as a consultant during that time. Omanoff obtained a 3.8 GPA at this school.

He began attending Hofstra University’s Graduate School of Business to receive his Master of Business Administration soon after. He graduated after one and a half years with honors, majoring in management science (Custom tailored with course work in Computer Science from School of Engineering). Omanoff’s first job after graduating from Hofstra was as a manufacturing engineer at Texas Instruments, moving on to Martin Marietta Aerospace and StorageTech Incorporated after.

After years of holding mid-level management positions, Omanoff landed a position as the Chief Quality Officer at StrataCom Communications. He obtained his first senior-level position at Fore Systems soon after, working as the Senior Executive of Core Engineering and Quality. Omanoff then moved into obtaining several vice president positions at multiple countries.

First, Dennis Omanoff served as the Vice President of Quality, Reliability, and Product Integration at Advanced Fibre Communications. He also worked as the Vice President of Operations at Jetstream Communications and the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, CPO, Manufacturing, and Corporate Real Estate at McAfee Inc.
